This workshop will explore how to create solid, mission-driven grant writing systems that will help you: find good funding matches for your programs; create grant calendars and work plans; write narratives and budgets that capture the excitement of your programs and demonstrate the strength of your organization; and incorporate grant writing into the ongoing work of your organization. We will also look at how grant applications are reviewed and how to build good relationships with funders.

Presenter: Ben Moorad is the co-founder of the nonprofit Write Around Portland, and he currently works as a freelance grant writer and as a professional Interim Director (as part of the Executive Transition Services team at TACS). He has sufficiently secured grant funding for a wide range of arts organizations from local theatres to international arts conferences. He has been awarded artist's residencies at the MacDowell Colony and Caldera Arts. He has also received four Individual Artist grants from the Regional Arts & Culture Council.
